Congratulations, Retirement And Welcome!

Congratulations to Dr. Rebecca and Dr. Jim Rutherfoord on Retirement! They were a pillar of the community on the Marietta campus for decades and we are truly losing some of the most caring and talented faculty we have ever had. We held one last, and large, celebration for them where many family members, long time friends, and colleagues all gathered together to share heartfelt stories and best wishes for their retirement. 

We would also like to extend a warm welcome to our three new department chairs: 

Dr. Shaoen Wu as chair of Information Technology - previously a State Farm Endowed professor of Cybersecurity at the school of Information Technology at Illinois State University. Dr. Wu is a Founding Director, Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education.

Dr. George Markowsky as chair of Software Engineering and Game Design - previously a Chair and Professor of Computer Science at Missouri University of Science & Technology. Before joining Missouri S&T, he was the founding Chair of the Computer Science Department at the University of Maine, where he served as Chair for many years.

Dr. Yong Pei as chair of Computer Science - previously held the Endowed Chair of LexisNexis Ohio Eminent Scholar for Advanced Data Management and Analysis at Wright State University. He served as the Graduate Program Director of Ph.D. in Computer Science and in the Engineering program.
